M9 News Journalist Nishant sat with Director Karthik Ghattamneni who just delivered a blockbuster with Mirai.
“The idea of Mirai came up when I was working for Awe! Teja was not even a hero back then. He liked the idea so much and but we have no one backing us. But Teja was relentless and he made it happen,” Karthik Ghattamaneni said.
He elaborated on how they were able to manage so much of quality with such limited budget.
“There are only two options – we can have limited resources but that will take so much of time. And the second is having a huge team which will complete in a less time. We chose the first option,” Karthik said.
We had a very lengthy discussion about the popular Sampati Bird episode.
“We had a 3D Model which is 20 feet high. When it flaps it’s wings, they extend up to 45 feet. We had the second biggest set ever to keep the Bird. Lighting was a huge challenge. We even got the expressions and movements using Animatrix. Shooting underwater is even difficult. Teja should not even blink in the water. He worked really hard,” he said.
