Following the epic success of Baahubali 2, legendary music composer MM Keeravani had decided to retire. Yet, prompted by his brother, filmmaker SS Rajamouli, and well-wishers, he reconsidered his retirement plan, and eventually, he won an Oscar for his rousing score in RRR, marking a twist of fate in his career.
After RRR, Keeravani’s work will be much awaited, under the scanner, and scrutinized like never before. He is now coming up with his first release post-RRR in the form of P Vasu’s Chandramukhi 2.
The first song, Swagathaanjali, released a few days ago, has received mixed response, mainly due to Kangana’s poor dancing.
Keeravani’s tune isn’t as chilling as Vidyasagar’s work from Chandramukhi’s first part, but still, it is melodious, tuneful, and serves the purpose.
But the remaining tunes have to be much better as music plays a big part in the Chandramukhi series films. Poor music was also one of the reasons why Venkatesh’s Nagavalli failed.
It will be interesting to see what aces Keeravani has up his sleeve and if the audience will be satisfied with his work in Chandramukhi 2 post-RRR Oscar win.
