In the latest turn of events, Malayalam blockbuster Officer on Duty has faced an unexpected hurdle ahead of its Telugu and Tamil releases scheduled for March 14, 2025.

Despite bookings opening across regular theatres, major multiplex chains have refused to screen the film. The reason? The Malayalam version, released on February 20, 2025, is set to hit OTT platforms by the end of this month.

With such a quick digital release window, multiplexes believe the film won’t attract enough footfall to justify screening it.

Mythri Movie Distributors LLP is actively working to resolve the issue and ensure the film’s release across Andhra Pradesh and Telangana multiplexes. Whether these chains will reconsider their stance remains uncertain.
