Nagarjuna has now dismissed these reports. He said the claim was untrue but added that he wished he had been offered the role. He praised the film and performances, calling Aditya Dhar’s direction impressive, and shared excitement for the sequel.
While discussing his upcoming film, Nag also spoke about the success of Ranveer Singh’s project. He said the team does not want to rush, as audiences now expect international level storytelling after Dhurandhar.
Not all online users were convinced by his response. Some fans appreciated his calm and respectful reply, acknowledging the rumours. Others, however, alleged that Nag may not have been fully truthful.
A few users claimed Nagarjuna was offered the role but turned it down to act in Coolie. The same voices criticised how his character turned out in Rajinikanth’s film, which released in August last year.
Those who believed Nagarjuna’s statement felt he would have been ideal for the role of Rahman Dakait. Some even urged Aditya Dhar to collaborate with Nag in a future film. The makers of Dhurandhar have not responded to these claims.
