Actor Navadeep has received major relief in the much-publicised 2023 Madhapur drugs case. He was listed as A37 in the case.
The case filed against Navadeep was struck down by the Telangana High Court. The decision has brought an end to the proceedings against him.
Navadeep’s counsel argued that no drugs were recovered from the actor. He stated that Navadeep’s name was added based only on information provided by another accused.
The lawyer also pointed out that the case is currently progressing in the Nampally Court. There was no direct evidence linking the actor to drug possession or consumption.
The High Court’s decision has drawn attention from film industry followers and the public in Telangana. The verdict is being seen as significant relief for the actor.
In September 2023, Navadeep was implicated in the Madhapur drugs case involving Nigerian peddlers and one Ramchand. The accused were arrested by the Telangana state anti-narcotics bureau and Hyderabad police.
Following the arrests, raids were conducted at Navadeep’s residence. The actor consistently maintained that he was not a drug consumer.
Navadeep stated that he knew the peddlers only through organising a pub event. He secured anticipatory bail in September 2023 and later appeared before the police as required.
In October 2023, the Enforcement Directorate questioned Navadeep in connection with a money laundering probe linked to the 2017 drugs case.
With the latest verdict, the High Court has officially dismissed the case against him. The ruling marks a major legal relief for the actor.
