Akkineni Akhil’s debut movie opened in maximum number of locations in overseas but there is no loud buzz for the premieres. The opening trends are showing poor going for the movie. As per Rentrak hourly premieres’ figures Kamal Haasan’s Thoongavanam (Cheekati Rajyam) premieres earned $20K which opened in 65 locations.

Ajith’s ‘Vedalam’ collected 10.8K from 46 locations. By the latest information available, Akhil got $18,796 from 87 locations as of 8pm EST. Overall, Kamal Haasan’s movie premiere had a better opening compared to the other two biggies. Of couse, Kamal’s movie was premiered in more locations compared to Ajith’s ‘Vedalam’.
The reasons behind this poor figures for Akhil’s debut movie seem to be bad weather in some places and week day release. But with the kind of promotions the film makers did in overseas, trade was not expecting these disappointing figures for Akhil.
