No Telugu films are releasing directly for Diwali this week. Two Tamil films are releasing into Telugu markets: Jigarthanda DoubleX (also known as Jigarthanda 2) and Karthi’s Japan.
Both films have their own strengths: Jigarthanda is a blockbuster and cult classic, while Japan has a decent technical crew on board.
Jigarthanda DoubleX never announced its US premieres, but Karthi’s Japan US distributor opened the shows.
Due to a last-minute call by the movie team, however, they cancelled the US premieres and are processing the refunds now.
This leaves US audiences with last week’s releases Keeda Cola (which made big bucks at $615,534) and Polimera 2, which are ending their runs. With no premieres today, it will be a quiet Thursday for the US market.
