If the latest buzz in Bollywood is to be believed, one of the most awaited historical Prithviraj starring Akshay Kumar is getting indefinitely postponed. The film was set to hit screens on January 21st,2022. It means pan-India Telugu biggies, RRR and Radhe Shyam, will get open ground.
Two reasons are coming out for the buzz related to the postponement of Prithviraj. The first and more important one is the night curfew in most of India’s states. It is a matter of concern for RRR and Radhe Shyam, but they have decided to go ahead with release anyway.
The second one is the delay in the theatrical trailer launch of Prithviraj. It suggests the promotions are not happening. And that indirectly means not arriving on time. An official announcement from Yash Raj Films is expected to be out anytime soon.
RRR and Radhe Shyam are among the most awaited biggies from Telugu. Bollywood is an important market for both the movies, and the postponement would be unexpected happy news for them.
RRR hits cinemas on January 7th, 2022 and comes in the combination of SS Rajamouli, Jr NTR and Ram Charan. On the other hand, Radhe Shyam is fronted by Prabhas’s name alone. It arrives a week later, on January 14th. Since both the movies cater to different audiences, there is no competition between them, and now it looks like externally too.
If these movies (RRR and Radhe Shyam) succeed, it would be a hat-trick for Telugu cinema in Bollywood, what with Pushpa doing well significantly.
