Ram Charan and Buchi Babu’s Peddi concluded its final and biggest promotional event with the pre-release function held in Vijayawada.
Despite the intense summer heat, the key members of the team made their presence felt. From A.R. Rahman to Divyenndu, Janhvi Kapoor, cinematographer Ratnavelu, and several others, the entire core team attended the event in Vijayawada.
The event stayed completely focused on cinema without taking on any political color, making it a pure film celebration. Pawan Kalyan too stayed away from the Peddi pre-release event.
During his speech, director Buchi Babu made an interesting revelation.
He said his debut film Uppena was made on a budget of just ₹25 crore, and now the producers have trusted him with a massive production mounted at around ₹350 crore for Peddi.
Coming directly from the director himself, the figure is surprisingly huge and reflects the scale and confidence the makers have placed in the project.
Apart from Ram Charan, the supporting cast, though well known, does not appear to be driven by massive star remunerations. That suggests a substantial portion of the budget may have gone into production scale, visuals, world-building, and execution.
Whether that ₹350 crore budget truly translates onto the screen is something audiences can judge only after watching the film in theaters.
What makes the number even more surprising is that Peddi, at least on the surface, appears to be a simple and rustic film. That makes such a massive production cost even more puzzling.
