Peddi Premieres in Risk? Sudden Silence Creates Confusion

Ram Charan in Peddi release update

Ram Charan and Janhvi Kapoor starrer Peddi is easily the most awaited Telugu film right now. It might also turn out to be the biggest Telugu film of 2026, as no other film appears to be as big or as hyped as Peddi this year. Directed by Buchi Babu Sana, the sports action drama has already created massive hype across trade circles and among fans. With every update, the makers have been steadily building expectations for the film’s release.

When the team officially announced the new release date, they clearly confirmed that Peddi would begin its theatrical run with worldwide premieres on June 3, ahead of the full-scale release on June 4.

However, the situation now appears to be changing slowly. While overseas premieres are very much on track and advance bookings have already opened in several international locations, there are currently no strong indications of premiere shows happening in India, especially in the Telugu states. Interestingly, the makers themselves have gradually stopped highlighting the “June 3 premieres” point in their recent promotional material and posters.

This sudden silence has now triggered discussions among fans and industry circles. Many are wondering whether Peddi will skip premieres entirely in the Telugu states and proceed only with regular shows from June 4. So far, the production team has not given any official clarification regarding the issue.

Industry observers believe the recent controversies surrounding the Telugu film industry could be one of the major reasons behind this possible change in plans. The ongoing tensions related to exhibitors, ticket pricing systems, benefit shows, and percentage-sharing disputes have already created uncertainty around several big releases. Since Peddi is one of the biggest Telugu releases of the season, the makers may be avoiding any additional complications at the moment.

At the same time, overseas premieres remain extremely important for the film’s opening momentum. The movie already carries tremendous hype, and trade analysts expect strong advance sales, especially in the US. Because of that, the team may currently be focusing more on the overseas market while taking a cautious approach in the Telugu states.

For now, fans are eagerly waiting to see whether the makers officially confirm Indian premiere shows later or completely drop the plan altogether. Until then, the confusion surrounding Peddi premieres continues to remain a hot topic in Tollywood circles.
