Ram Charan’s ambitious pan India project Peddi, directed by Buchi Babu Sana, is one of the most talked about upcoming Telugu films. After delivering the blockbuster Uppena, fans believe Buchi Babu will repeat that magic with this sports drama. The film features Janhvi Kapoor as the female lead and Kannada star Shiva Rajkumar in a key role. The Chikiri song composed by AR Rahman has already taken social media by storm. Everything seemed on track, but now uncertainty surrounds the film’s release.
Initially, the makers scheduled Peddi for release on March 27, 2026. Later, they postponed it to April 30, 2026, because shooting had not been completed. Now, fresh rumors suggest another postponement, possibly to June 2026. These reports have created confusion and concern among fans.
The core issue appears to be incomplete production work. Even though the release date is approaching, insiders say the talkie portion remains unfinished. Typically, a film wraps shooting at least two months before release to allow time for post-production and promotions. However, in Peddi’s case, not only is some talkie portion pending, but patchwork also remains. Reports even suggest that a special item song featuring a star actress has not been finalized or filmed yet.
Post-production for a pan India film like Peddi requires substantial time, including editing, background score, visual effects, and dubbing in multiple languages. Industry sources estimate that preparing the first copy alone could take at least one and a half months if the team works continuously without breaks. Even if they complete the film on time, promotional activities may suffer due to limited time.
Insiders claim that nearly 25% of the shoot still remains. Buchi Babu, known for his perfectionism, reportedly wants every scene to meet high standards, but that commitment may be contributing to delays.
However, the makers have once again confirmed the release date as April 30 with the announcement of the second song release, “Rai Rai Raa Raa.” The second single will arrive on March 2. There is huge anticipation around it after the blockbuster first song Chikiri.
As of now, the makers confirm there is no change in the release date, despite all speculations in the industry circles. Peddi will hit screens on April 30.
