Ram Charan and Buchi Babu Sana’s Peddi has locked April 30 as its release date. The team is pushing hard to meet the deadline, especially after multiple delays. Missing this date is not an option, both from a business and seasonal standpoint.

U.S. bookings are set to open this Thursday, but premiere ticket prices are already facing strong criticism on social media.

Standard screens are priced at $25, while premium formats like XD are at $30, and D-BOX at $35.

These prices are not sitting well with U.S. audiences. Many are questioning why a simple, rustic film like Peddi is priced between $25 and $35, especially when a technically ambitious film like Dhurandhar 2 is available for $13 standard pricing with theater passes.

This is not the fault of the U.S. distributor, Prathyangira Cinemas. Telugu star films come with high acquisition costs, and without premium pricing, it becomes extremely difficult to sustain theatrical releases in the U.S.

That said, the timing is not in Peddi’s favor.

Once the film releases, comparisons with Dhurandhar 2 are inevitable. Audience word of mouth will heavily depend on whether the film feels worth the price.

If Peddi delivers big, pricing will not matter. But if the content turns out average, these comparisons could become a major headache.
