Fauzi Faces Another Trouble: Can Shraddha Hurt Prabhas?

prabhas-fauzi-vs-eetha-december-release-clash

Prabhas’ Fauzi December release is starting to look increasingly complicated. Fauzi is scheduled for December 3, 2026, but two Hindi releases are arriving almost immediately after it. Shraddha Kapoor’s Eetha is locked for December 4, while Akshay Kumar’s Hindi remake of Sankrantiki Vasthunnam, directed by Anees Bazmee and produced by Dil Raju, is also scheduled for the same day.

Eetha could be a serious factor, particularly in Maharashtra. The film reunites producer Dinesh Vijan with director Laxman Utekar after Chhaava and with Shraddha after Stree 2, both huge blockbusters. Shraddha plays the lead in an author-backed role, while Randeep Hooda and Mohd Zeeshan Ayyub are also part of the cast.

The teaser has reportedly received a strong response, while Eetha’s local theme could give it a clear advantage in Maharashtra. This makes it difficult to dismiss the film simply because Eetha is a woman-oriented film while Fauzi has the bigger male star.

There is also an interesting Prabhas-Shraddha connection. The two were paired in Saaho, and now Shraddha is returning to face Prabhas at the box office.

Fauzi remains the much bigger film on paper, but star power alone does not decide clashes. A strong trailer, content, music, and regional appeal can give an underdog considerable staying power.

Fauzi is being made on a massive scale and needs strong business across India, especially in Hindi, rather than depending primarily on the Telugu states. Eetha has Shraddha and a strong Maharashtra connection, while the Sankrantiki Vasthunnam remake could attract family audiences with its commercial setup and Akshay Kumar’s presence.

Fauzi also has the potential controversy surrounding Pakistan-based actress Imanvi, which could create additional headaches in the Hindi market.

For now, Fauzi is clearly the biggest film in this December 2026 clash. But its release window is becoming increasingly crowded. Prabhas has the biggest star power of the three. The real question is whether Fauzi can convert that advantage into a genuine pan-India blockbuster.

Because this time, the Hindi market may not simply be waiting for Fauzi. It will have two other options arriving almost immediately.
