Prabhas: Many Films Lined Up, But What’s the Use?

Prabhas

Prabhas fans are currently confused and disappointed, as there’s no clarity on what his next release will be.

With multiple films in the pipeline, fans naturally assumed there would be at least one release every year. But as things stand, it looks like there might not be a single Prabhas movie hitting theatres in 2025.

Initially, Raja Saab, directed by Maruthi, was expected to arrive soon. However, the film has been delayed without any official reason or update. On the other hand, Fauji, directed by Hanu Raghavapudi, is progressing quickly and is close to completion. But because of Raja Saab, it can’t release first.

Meanwhile, Hombale Films officially announced Salaar 2, but there’s been complete silence since then, which has only added to the uncertainty.

Spirit, the highly anticipated collaboration with Sandeep Reddy Vanga, is expected to go on floors by the end of this year. However, there’s still no confirmation on how much progress has been made on the script.

Adding to the delays, director Nag Ashwin recently revealed that Kalki 2 won’t begin anytime soon, as he is still working on the script. In fact, before returning to the Kalki sequel, he plans to do a quick film with Alia Bhatt. This means Kalki 2, if at all it materializes, may only begin production next year.

Simultaneously, Hanu Raghavapudi is not only racing to complete Fauji, but is also reportedly planning to lock Prabhas again for another project.

Looking at the entire slate—Raja Saab, Fauji, Salaar 2, Kalki 2, Spirit, a cameo in Kannappa, Prasanth Varma’s film, and possibly a second film with Hanu—it’s clear that Prabhas’ calendar is packed for the next five years.

However, the long gaps between his releases are testing fans’ patience. Many are beginning to wonder if taking on too many pan-India films at once is causing unnecessary delays and pressure, leaving them with plenty of announcements but no actual release in sight.
