Prabhas Admits, “Saaho Succeeded Only Due to Baahubali!”

Prabhas discusses Baahubali pressure

In a deeply honest admission, Pan-India star Prabhas has opened up about the monumental pressure and psychological toll that followed the historic success of the Baahubali franchise.

Speaking as part of the promotional buzz surrounding the Netflix documentary series Baahubali: The Torchbearer, which chronicles the behind-the-scenes journey and cultural phenomenon of the epic, the actor gave absolute credit to S.S. Rajamouli’s magnum opus for the box office pull of his subsequent films, specifically Saaho.

Prabhas candidly stated that the massive ₹25 crore opening day collection for Saaho in the North market was shocking to witness. He directly attributed those numbers to the leftover momentum and goodwill generated by Baahubali.

The actor acknowledged that the massive pan-India audience base created by the franchise was the sole driver for such unprecedented theatrical openings outside his home territory.

However, this global stardom came with an immense personal cost. Prabhas admitted that the first two films he shot after Baahubali, which includes the high-octane action thriller Saaho, were extraordinarily stressful to navigate.

Describing that phase as the most stressful years of his entire life, the actor shed light on the crushing burden of carrying audience expectations, proving that living up to a historic legacy is often a scary and sleepless endeavor for an artist.
