Producer Narsamma Appeals to Prabhas Over ‘Spirit’ Controversy

Narsamma appeals over Spirit title dispute

An independent film title controversy has emerged in the Telugu film industry involving actor Prabhas’s upcoming big-budget movie Spirit, directed by Sandeep Reddy Vanga.

A woman farmer and independent producer named Narsamma, who financed a small-budget project titled Spirit is Not One under the 8th Wonder Cinemas banner, has made an emotional public appeal to Prabhas for assistance. According to reports, Narsamma and her family of agricultural background exhausted their life savings and sold personal assets to make their film, which secured its censor certificate before Prabhas’s film even began production.

The dispute arose after Bollywood production giant T-Series, the co-producers behind Prabhas’s Spirit, served two legal notices to 8th Wonder Cinemas demanding they stop the promotion and theatrical release of their movie due to the title overlap.

The legal blockade has stalled the release of Spirit is Not One, causing heavy financial distress and a loss of local reputation for Narsamma’s family. In her public appeal, Narsamma clarified that she holds no ill will toward Prabhas or Sandeep Reddy Vanga and is fully willing to change her film’s title through mutual discussions.

She requested that the makers of the larger film withdraw their objections and issue a NOC so her project can proceed to theaters and digital platforms, adding that they will be forced to seek legal recourse as a final option if an amicable solution is not reached.
