In December last year, Prabhas and Prashanth Neel teamed up for the first time on Salaar: Part 1, which enjoyed decent success at the global box office.
Audiences were captivated by Prabhas’ character elevation and the world-building executed by Prashanth Neel in Salaar. The anticipation for its sequel, Salaar 2, skyrocketed among a section of fans.
Recent reports reveal that Salaar 2 is all set to commence shooting by the end of May at Ramoji Film City. Prashanth and his team of writers have refined the script based on feedback from the first part.
Hombale Films aims to release Salaar 2 in December 2025. Besides the core cast, new actors from various industries will also be joining the sequel.
Prashanth Neel had initially committed to collaborating with NTR shortly after completing Salaar 1. However, it appears that this project has been postponed for the time being.
NTR is expected to wrap up shooting for WAR 2 by August or September this year, leaving him without any immediate projects thereafter.
There are rumors that NTR intends to commence filming for Prashanth Neel’s project in October, although this depends on Prashanth’s availability.
If Prashanth is not free by then, NTR may opt to start Devara 2 based on the response to its first part, which is slated for release in October.
There were reports that Prashanth Neel was busy doing recce to shoot NTR’s film in the last few months. But it seems he was busy working on Salaar 2’s script.
Prashanth Neel has given priority to Salaar 2 over NTR’s project maybe because he wants to come out of the Salaar world completely before embarking on a completely fresh subject with NTR.
Also, Salaar didn’t break out as KGF did, so there is a risk that its craze might go down soon, so it’s better to come up with its sequel first than opting for a new project.
