Usually, when there is any kind of significant makeover in terms of physical appearance of a star hero, it comes with its own set of risks. The responsibility is entirely on the director to bring out the best possible look. We’ve seen this in the case of Pushpa recently.
Coming to the, Junior NTR project with director Prashanth Neel, things are looking dissimilar.

If we roll back the days, Rajamouli designed a perfect look for NTR in RRR. He got the Nandamuri hero to bulk up a bit and designed a rightly masculine look for him.
This was followed up to a decent extent by Koratala Siva for Devara. Though this framing of the cinematography wasn’t perfect, NTR was alright in terms of looks.

But in the case of this upcoming film with Neel, it must be said that NTR looks unlike anything we’ve seen from him in the recent past. One possible reminiscence that can be drawn is that of his Kantri makeover look.
NTR has lost a bit too much weight now and he looks completely different, not entirely in a positive way either.

The primary understanding is that NTR underwent this slimming makeover for Neel’s film. This might be the demand of the character that was designed by Neel in the first place.
But in any which way, getting the right look is a must. On that front, there are doubts that are being raised about NTR’s appearance.
Even in the picture that was released today, NTR look a lot slimmer with thick facial beard. After having seen him in a slightly bulky look that suited him well, this new look is hard to process.
Neel is taking a risky gamble by being int down NTR to a super slim size and there’s a lot of change in his facial appearance as well. Such transformations are rarely seen in superstar driven film films these days.
Neel must get it absolutely bang on point with this experimentation now and it has to be seen if he can make it happen with pinpoint accuracy. Any complaints about the looks in the film will certainly earn backlash for Neel.
