Shah Rukh Khan made a god-level comeback in 2023 with all-time blockbusters like Pathaan and Jawan. There were huge expectations for his third film, Dunki, as well, due to the first-time collaboration with Rajkumar Hirani.
But Dunki turned out to be a big disappointment. The clash with Prashanth Neel’s Salaar also dent Dunki’s business big time in the North belts.

Despite Dunki’s moderate Indian net earnings of 225 crores, it was overshadowed by Salaar’s impressive 150 crores. Moreover, on a global scale, Salaar’s monumental 600 crores gross collections outshone Dunki’s 475 crores by a huge margin.
Prashanth Neel has this habit of spoiling SRK’s party. In 2018 also, KGF 1 clashed with SRK’s Zero. KGF collected 45 crores and emerged super hit in Hindi whereas Zero collected 90 crores and was a disaster.

SRK fans argue that both Zero and Dunki were outdated films belonging to the drama genre. They speculate that the true litmus test for SRK versus Prashanth Neel clashes will unfold when Neel dares to challenge SRK’s grand-scale action extravaganzas like “Pathaan” or “Jawan.”
