Promoting a movie is the right of every producer, would you ban a maker if he wants to promote his films the way he wants? Well, in the Tamil and Telugu film industry there are rules which states that a producer could be banned and we have a prime example of this case now.

In Tamil, the production house AGS Entertainment (Brothers, Anekudu) has been banned from making further movies because it didn’t adhere to the rules while promoting its latest release Thani Oruvan. The producer had over promoted his film than required and hence the band.
The idea behind the rule is that there is a equality between a big producer and a small producer. However when it comes to promotions there are no clear definitions and hence many get away like we see in Telugu cinema. Unfortunately in the case of Thani Oruvan, the producer seems to have been caught off guard.
