Pushpa 2 is set to break Baahubali 2’s long-standing opening day record at the Indian box office.
Baahubali 2 has held this record for nearly eight years with a massive Rs. 135 crore opening day collection. However, Pushpa 2 is expected to surpass this comfortably when it releases tomorrow.

In the past, films like RRR and KGF Chapter 2 came close to challenging this record but couldn’t succeed.
RRR’s performance in North India fell short, while KGF faced competition from Beast and struggled in Andhra Pradesh due to ticket pricing and limited release. Pushpa 2, on the other hand, has no such issues.

The film will be released without any competition and has seen record-high ticket prices, especially in Andhra Pradesh and Telangana.
North India’s response is also expected to be very strong. Trade analysts predict Pushpa 2 will cross Rs. 150 crore on its first day, possibly reaching Rs. 160–180 crore.

In North India, the film is aiming for over Rs. 70 crore gross. In Nizam, collections could surpass Rs. 30 crore due to high ticket rates. Andhra Pradesh might not beat RRR’s record of Rs. 50 crore but could top Devara’s Rs. 40 crore.
Elsewhere in South India, collections are expected to be between Rs. 25–30 crore.
Pushpa 2’s opening day is poised to set a new benchmark, dethroning Baahubali 2 as the biggest opening day grosser in Indian cinema, however Baahubali 2 footfalls wouldn’t be crossed.
