The much-hyped first single ‘Pushpa Pushpa’ by DSP is out, and here is some frank feedback on the song. Overall, the initial impression is not a chartbuster, but as is often the case with most DSP songs, this one needs time to grow on you with multiple listens.
The ‘Pushpa Pushpa’ song mainly focuses on elevating the hero, but the lyrics by Chandrabose come across as dated as possible. However, what works is the hook; it has an instant appeal whenever it returns, changing the mood effectively.
What’s missing is the new-age mass appeal through lyrics. What works well is the hook and visuals, with glimpses of Allu Arjun bringing instant excitement to the visual presentation.
The setting shown through brief glimpses in the song, along with Allu Arjun’s costumes and swagger, has a high chance of making it work despite its flaws.
The song is par for the course if it were the first part, but with the gigantic expectations built around part 2, we have to wait and see if the single follows the same trajectory as its first-part counterpart!
