‘Putham Pudhu Kaalai’, a Tamil anthology that has been streaming on Amazon Prime has opened to critical appreciation and positive response from the OTT users. Five acclaimed directors had woven five different stories with a common inherent theme.
After Malayalam direct OTT release ‘C U Soon’ turned out to be a decent hit on Prime, finally, here is a good watch for the OTT users in the form of this anthology. Especially, the story directed by female director Sudha Kongara was a pleasant surprise along with acclaimed directors Gatham Vasudeva Menon and Karthik Subbaraju’s episodes.
The other two in the anthology were seen as comparatively weaker ones but they too have their moments with senior talented actors ruling the roost with their prowess. Anthologies on digital platforms were mostly limited to the Bollywood directors.
Finally, a good anthology from South has been receiving positive responses. Good to see the content ruling. Prime had announced another half a dozen movies to wrap up soon in the year. But, there is no buzz around those films.
