The release of the first look poster of Allu Arjun’s Raaka directed by Atlee has sparked intense discussion across social media. Dropped on Allu Arjun’s birthday, the poster was expected to set the tone for a “never-seen-before” cinematic experience. However, the internet quickly shifted its focus toward drawing comparisons with several earlier films.

Many users pointed out similarities between Allu Arjun’s look in Raaka and characters from films like Karthi’s Kaashmora, and Vikram’s I. Some even felt that the styling resembled Shah Rukh Khan’s bald look from Jawan, which was also directed by Atlee. Others went a step further and compared the name “Raaka” to the bald villain from NTR’s disaster Shakti.

Social media platforms like X and Reddit were filled with memes, jokes, and mixed reactions. Some users described the poster as a blend of multiple films, while others trolled it for feeling familiar rather than fresh.

However, all the trolling and jokes aside, Allu Arjun isn’t that dumb to simply rehash an old film, reuse a familiar look, and serve it to the audience. After the massive success of Pushpa 2, he clearly understands his pan-India potential and the expectations that come with it. He knows he has to deliver something fresh and unique.

The first look may remind people of something seen before, but that doesn’t automatically mean it’s a blind copy. Allu Arjun is far more calculated and sharper when compared to many of his contemporaries. He is unlikely to repeat the mistakes made by stars like Prabhas, Jr. NTR, or Ram Charan in their recent choices.

He will definitely aim big. Whether that ambition works or not is a different question, but the intent will be to give the audience something they haven’t seen before, at least in Indian cinema.

People may doubt Atlee’s originality, and that concern is valid. But Allu Arjun is too smart to blindly recycle old themes and present them as new. At the very least, he will ensure that the film doesn’t end up as a troll material.
