The most celebrated commercial filmmaker in Indian cinema, SS Rajamouli toured Japan as a part of RRR’s post-release promotional events. Speaking at the event, he gave a vague update on RRR’s sequel as he confirmed that the sequel is in the idea development stage but can’t reveal anything more at the moment.
For those wondering about the sequel, it is a bit too farfetched to be even considered feasible at least in the near future.
Rajamouli himself might be occupied with Mahesh’s film for another 3 years or so. By 2027, Ram Charan and NTR will certainly be occupied with their own projects and will be planning their lineups accordingly. Rajamouli himself could have other ideas in mind.
RRR sequel might sound exciting for the global audience who loved the first part but with domestic permutations in mind, Tarak, Charan, and Rajamouli coming together again for another 2-3 years isn’t really possible. Far too many things have to align perfectly for that to happen and the chances are really low.
More so, considering the ugly fight that broke out between Mega and Nandamuri fans after RRR’s release about the prominence of either of the heroes. This is still a heated topic of discussion between the two warring camps. Even the heroes could be skeptical about coming back together again.
Rajamouli might have just dropped a feeler of RRR 2 to energize the crowds, but we can’t pin serious hopes on this project actually happening.
