Rajamouli Needs New Markets For Varanasi?

Rajamouli Mahesh Babu Varanasi film still

Rajamouli is the biggest commercial film maker in Indian cinema, and he is also one of the most expensive directors around. The kind of visual craft that he creates require a lot of post production, which indeed spike up the production costs.

Rajamouli is currently collaborating with Mahesh Babu for Varanasi, which appears to be one of the costliest projects in the making. It is reported by a few Media channels that the film has a budget of 1000 crore.

In order to bring back this revenues, Rajamouli will certainly be targeting bigger and wider markets apart from the conventional India belt. The RRR Legacy from the West, particularly the US could come in handy.

To put that into perspective, we have the case of Dhurandhar 2, which despite the strong sequel backing is unable to reach Rs 2000 crore. When a sequel film with such as a strong nationalistic movement is unable to touch the solid 2000 crore mark, then things will certainly be tough for any other film, including Varanasi.

One solid option that Rajamouli will have to explore is the Chinese and Japanese box office prospect. In particular, the Chinese belt can contribute significant revenues if they like a film. This previously happened for an Indian film, Dangal.

Going by the current situation, Rajamouli will definitely have to open new grounds for Varanasi as touching the unprecedented 2000 crore mark is the obvious challenge for this film. This can be made possible only with mighty revenues from overseas.

Considering the creative genius, the Rajamouli is, and also the marketing brains, he would certainly be plotting in this context already. It will all come down to the matter of execution and projecting the film adequately during the time of the release.
