Rajinikanth Stuck Between 2 Directors: Totally Unexpected

Rajinikanth 173 director change confusion

Strong speculation since yesterday has placed Rajinikanth’s 173rd film at the centre of debate. Social media is filled with theories about a possible director change. The sudden buzz has created confusion among fans and industry watchers.

The film was set to begin shooting by the end of April under Cibi Chakaravarthi. However, reports now suggest a possible shift, with Ashwath Marimuthu being considered as a replacement. This unexpected development has raised questions about the project’s direction.

Amid the speculation, some social media users claimed that Rajinikanth wanted changes in the script. They suggested he asked for a more serious tone, similar to Dhurandhar. These claims also hinted that Cibi Chakaravarthi might step away from the project.

However, several trade trackers have dismissed these theories as false. According to them, the issue is not related to the script. Instead, it is linked to Cibi Chakaravarthi’s existing commitments with a Telugu producer.

Reports indicate that Cibi Chakaravarthi had earlier agreed to direct a Telugu film for Chitturi Srinivasa. To proceed with Rajinikanth’s film, he needs an NOC from the producer. However, the request is reportedly being denied due to high pre-production costs.

At the same time, Ashwath Marimuthu also faces a similar situation. He is committed to a project with AGS Productions featuring Simbu. He too requires an NOC, making the situation complex for both directors.

With both options facing hurdles, the final decision remains uncertain. Reports suggest that whoever secures the NOC first may direct the film. As of now, there is no official confirmation from the makers.
