Rao Bahadur Will Become A Reference: Satya Dev

The makers of Satya Dev-starrer psychological drama Rao Bahadur celebrated the film’s impressive reception with a success meet, reflecting their confidence in its lasting impact.

Director Venkatesh Maha said he had waited a long time to make Rao Bahadur. “Deepa Thomas deserves to be celebrated for her performance as Renuka. Vikas is an underrated actor, and I wanted to work with him ever since C/O Kancharapalem. The reactions on social media disappointed me initially, but my opinion changed after watching the audience’s response in theatres,” he said.

Satya Dev emotionally reflected on his journey. “People are saying that after Baahubali and RRR, it’s Rao Bahadur. They are calling July 4 my rebirth. I’ve done many films, and I’m used to disappointments, but what gave me real satisfaction was hearing people say they’ll miss something special if they don’t watch this movie,” he said.

He also revealed that he had earlier recommended the script to other heroes before destiny brought it back to him. Calling Venkatesh Maha a perfectionist, Satya Dev said every actor had to discover their character without any references. “Now, every character from Rao Bahadur will become a reference for future films. It’s not Rao Bahadur, it’s ‘Wow Bahadur’,” he said, while praising Vikas, Deepa Thomas, and the entire team’s extensive efforts in making the film.
