Prabhas Fauzi has landed in trouble over its birthday glimpse. Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose’s grandnephew Chandra Kumar Bose has objected to the way Netaji is shown and reportedly demanded an apology from the makers.
The glimpse, released on Prabhas’ birthday, featured Netaji in a scene with Adolf Hitler. It also brought him into the story of Prabhas’ fictional character, an Indian spy. The scene did not sit well with some viewers, who questioned the way Netaji was connected to the film’s hero.
Chandra Kumar Bose has also raised concerns over the historical context. Netaji sought Germany’s help in India’s fight for independence, but his grandnephew says this should not be confused with support for fascism. He has reportedly called on director Hanu Raghavapudi and the team to apologise.
The reaction has put the spotlight on Fauzi even before its release. The film tells a fictional story, but the use of a real freedom fighter has opened up questions about how his role in history is being shown.
The makers have not publicly responded to the demand so far. Fauzi, starring Prabhas and directed by Hanu Raghavapudi, is scheduled to release on March 19, 2027.
