M9 News journalist Nishant recently caught up with Rashmika Mandanna to talk about her upcoming film The Girlfriend, releasing on November 7. The actress shared how she instantly fell in love with the story and agreed to do the film without any second thoughts.
“I felt a film like this should have been made during my college days. It’s very relevant for girls who are introverted or trapped in toxic relationships,” Rashmika said. “It’s also special that a man, Rahul Ravindran, wrote such an important story for women.”
Rashmika expressed her gratitude for being part of an era where writers and directors are creating powerful roles for women. She also discussed her intense dialogue after the Jathara scene in Pushpa 2 and the much-talked-about scene where she slaps Ranbir Kapoor in Animal.
When asked whether her success is due to luck or hard work, Rashmika smiled and said it’s a mix of both.
While questions about her relationship status and engagement were avoided, the actress was asked if Vijay Deverakonda would attend The Girlfriend pre-release event.
“Why are you asking me about Vijay? You should ask Allu Aravind Garu he promised to bring him to the event,” Rashmika replied with a laugh.
