Rashmika’s Timely Exit: A Wise Call

Rashmika Mandanna

Rashmika Mandanna was thrilled when her debut female-centric film, ‘Rainbow,’ launched with much anticipation last April. However, Chennai sources reveal that the film encountered a setback after just 15 to 20 days of shooting.

Allegedly, production has been halted by the creators due to the lackluster performance of female-oriented Tamil films in Kollywood, awaiting a more opportune moment to revive the thriller. Reports also suggest indefinite shelving due to Rashmika’s rising popularity leading to rumored remuneration demands.

On a brighter note, Rashmika’s first female-centric Telugu project, ‘The Girlfriend,’ progresses smoothly and garners high anticipation in Tollywood.

Opting out of ‘Rainbow’ seems wise for Rashmika, given her soaring career post-‘Animal,’ with expectations peaking for ‘Pushpa 2’ and potential collaborations with Prabhas in Vanga’s upcoming film Spirit.

A niche film like ‘Rainbow’ and that too in Tamil might have caused a dent in her career’s upward track at this pivotal juncture.
