The shooting of Rajinikanth’s highly anticipated film Dharman directed by Ashwath Marimuthu, is now progressing at a fast pace and according to reports, the Dharman team has planned the filming for a single schedule of around two months in Chennai.
During the initial announcement, the Dharman team confirmed that actresses Raashii Khanna and Simran are playing crucial roles in the film. Now, according to recent speculations, the team has also onboarded comedian Yogi Babu and actress Rukmini Vasanth to play important characters in the film.
If this speculation proves true, Dharman will be the third Kollywood film for Rukmini Vasanth, following Vijay Sethupathi’s Ace and Sivakarthikeyan’s Madharaasi.
Even though Rukmini Vasanth has a huge fan base in Tamil Nadu, the underperformance of both her previous films, Ace and Madharaasi, means she has yet to make a major impact in Kollywood.
However, in response to the recent casting speculations, many people on social media are suggesting that Rukmini Vasanth has secured a solid opportunity. They claim that since it is a Rajinikanth film, it will help her reach a massive section of the audience.
Hence, they note that if Dharman becomes a blockbuster success and Rukmini Vasanth creates a massive impact with her performance, she will gain a major spotlight in Kollywood, which would also help her emerge as a prominent actress in the industry.
Ultimately, all these are just social media speculations and there are still no official updates on Rukmini Vasanth’s addition to Dharman. It remains to be seen whether she will indeed act alongside Rajinikanth in Dharman and if she does, whether the film will emerge as a successful venture, helping her grow as a star actress in Kollywood.
