Superstar Rajinikanth, after completing the shooting for his portions in his highly anticipated sequel Jailer 2, has now moved on to his next film Dharman, which is being directed by Ashwath Marimuthu. The shooting for this film is happening at a fast pace and it is expected to be an action commercial entertainer.
Ever since the first look poster and the title for the film were announced, social media has been flooded with mixed reactions, as many people claim that Rajinikanth made the wrong decision by committing to Ashwath Marimuthu over Cibi Chakaravarthi.
This is because, at the launch event of Dharman, Rajinikanth himself revealed that Cibi Chakaravarthi’s script was a solid story involving nuclear weapons, but simply because it required a long shooting schedule, he chose Ashwath Marimuthu’s script and replaced Cibi Chakaravarthi.
Since Rajinikanth made this revelation, some people have been setting a troll narrative against Ashwath Marimuthu, claiming that he hijacked a well-deserved opportunity from Cibi Chakaravarthi with a below-par, mediocre commercial entertainer script.
In this scenario, Ashwath Marimuthu recently stated at an event that Dharman is the biggest responsibility of his life and that working with Rajinikanth is very comfortable for him. Furthermore, he mentioned that Dharman will be a well-crafted film and that Rajinikanth’s swag combined with his own filmmaking style will make Dharman a solid film to witness in theatres.
Following these statements by Ashwath Marimuthu, some people on social media are responding that he seems overconfident in his craft, suggesting that he is creating unnecessary hype for the film with his comments.
Additionally, they point to Lokesh Kanagaraj, who was severely trolled after the failure of Coolie due to the overconfident statements he made in Coolie’s pre-release interviews. They claim that if Dharman ends up as a failure, Ashwath Marimuthu will become the next Lokesh Kanagaraj, warning that he will become a huge target for trolls among netizens. Therefore, they feel that Ashwath Marimuthu should stop giving overconfident speeches until the release of the film and not overhype it.
Nevertheless, it remains to be seen how Dharman is going to take shape and whether it emerges as a blockbuster success, allowing Ashwath Marimuthu to maintain his success streak.
