Prabhas had his biggest theatrical release in the recent past with Salaar and the film has expectedly set the box office on absolute fire on its opening day.
Salaar now stands as the biggest opener in Indian cinema for the year 2023 and it has started off particularly well in the Telugu states and overseas.
With a final worldwide gross of around Rs 160 crores(exact figure will be out later), Salaar is the biggest opener of 2023, beating Jawan, Pathan, Leo, and Adipurush. Prabhas now has two of the biggest openers of the year with Adipurush and Salaar.
The biggest openers of all time are – RRR stands tall with Rs 220 crores gross worldwide. Baahubali 2 is next with 214 crores gross and KGF 2 with 163 crores gross. Salaar has entered the list with Rs 160 crores. Leo is next with 140 crores gross.
Salaar is trending well in the Telugu states on the second day and we await how it is doing overseas and in the Hindi belt. A good trend over the weekend is needed, given the huge stakes involved.
