Spirit has completed around 50 days of shooting, but the more interesting update is how Sandeep Reddy Vanga is managing the film’s finances. Despite the scale of the Prabhas-starrer, production is reportedly moving within the planned budget so far.
Vanga appears extremely particular about production spending. The director reportedly does not encourage unnecessary expenditure and focuses on ensuring money is spent only where it adds value to the film. For a project of Spirit’s scale, that kind of discipline can make a significant difference.
Big-star films often see budgets expand during production because of elaborate sets, action blocks and extended schedules. However, Vanga seems determined not to let that happen with Spirit. Rather than spending simply to create a larger spectacle, the filmmaker is reportedly concentrating on what the script actually requires.
The film has already generated huge expectations because of the Prabhas-Vanga combination, but controlling costs could be just as important as delivering the scale.
If Vanga maintains the same approach through the remaining schedules, Spirit could emerge as a rare big-ticket film that combines ambition with strong financial discipline.
