Prabhas’ Cheapest Film with Most Explosive Hype?

Prabhas fans have one more reason to be excited about Spirit. The latest shooting schedule of the film is currently underway in Kukatpally, Hyderabad, with the team reportedly filming some intense scenes featuring Prabhas. As per the latest buzz, more than 50% of the shoot has already been completed.

If the latest reports are true, Spirit could turn out to be one of Prabhas’ cheapest films post-Baahubali. That is quite surprising when one looks at the kind of budgets Prabhas has been associated with over the last decade.

After Baahubali, Prabhas almost became synonymous with gigantic budgets. Saaho and Radhe Shyam were mounted on around Rs. 350 crore each, Adipurush reportedly touched Rs. 600 crores, Salaar was made on around Rs. 400 crore, and Kalki 2898 AD was also a massive Rs. 600-crore project. Even The Raja Saab, which ended up as a huge box office disaster, is said to have cost more than Rs. 400 crores.

In that context, Spirit taking the “lower budget, higher intensity” route feels refreshing.

What makes it even more notable is that the hype around Spirit is arguably much stronger than most of those giant-budget films. That itself proves one thing very clearly: massive excitement does not always need a Rs. 400-500 crore budget. Sometimes, the right combination is enough.

And Prabhas + Sandeep Reddy Vanga is exactly that kind of combination.

Sandeep Vanga has built a brand where audiences expect intensity, controversy, raw emotion, and a hero presentation that pushes everything to the extreme. Prabhas, on the other hand, is at a stage where fans are eager to see him in something darker, more powerful, and properly designed around his screen presence after the disappointment of The Raja Saab.

That is why Spirit feels different.

It may not be Prabhas’ biggest film in terms of budget, but right now it looks like one of his most crucial and most hyped projects. If Vanga delivers the kind of dark, explosive cop drama fans are expecting, Spirit could prove that content, director brand, and star image can create far bigger hype than budget numbers ever can.

In fact, trade circles are already speculating that Spirit could challenge opening-day records not just in Telugu but in Hindi too. A lot will depend on the teaser, trailer, songs, release date, and overall promotions, so it is still too early to predict box office collections. But the early buzz clearly suggests one thing: Spirit has the potential to open at a truly massive level of Rs. 200 crores worldwide gross on day one despite not being one of Prabhas’ costliest films.
