While giving the event’s introductions, she made a comparison between Dil Raju and his brother Shirish, saying that they reminded her of the fictional characters Ram and Lakshman.
The term “fictional” in Telugu means “imaginary,” and this comment led to a backlash from Hindutva groups on social media.
These groups criticized her for referring to Lord Ram and his brother Lakshman, who are revered as divine figures in Hinduism, as fictional characters.
In response to the criticism, they demanded that she apologize for her mistake.
Sreemukhi has now released a video where she clarified the situation.
She explained that she is a devout Hindu and has deep faith in Lord Ram, and that she had made an accidental mistake by calling the characters Ram and Lakshman fictional.
She expressed regret for unintentionally hurting people’s feelings and promised to be more careful in the future to avoid such mistakes.
Sreemukhi sincerely apologized to everyone affected and requested forgiveness, asking for people to understand her mistake and forgive her with a big heart.
She assured that such errors would not occur again, and she would be extra cautious moving forward.
