Expectations for Spirit are already high as Prabhas teams up with Gen Z’s favorite director Sandeep Reddy Vanga. After the blockbuster Animal, there is strong curiosity about how Vanga will present Prabhas, especially with him playing a powerful police officer.
A recent update from lyricist Anantha Sriram has added to the hype. He revealed that two songs are already completed and described the album as having a “classical” feel. That is unexpected for a Prabhas and Vanga film, where people usually anticipate loud, mass heavy tracks. But according to him, the story’s emotional depth naturally supports this classical tone.
At the same time, the film is not ignoring mass appeal. There will still be intense, high voltage action sequences. So the idea is a mix, strong emotion on one side and brutal action on the other.
Sandeep Reddy Vanga is known for writing aggressive, layered characters, and this cop role is expected to push Prabhas into a more intense zone than his previous films. His body language, attitude, and action design are said to be far from routine police roles.
Music is being handled by Harshavardhan Rameshwar, whose background score will likely play a key role in both emotional and action portions.
The shoot has completed one schedule, with a bigger phase coming up. Prabhas is also working on refining his look to match the character.
That said, police dramas are not new to Indian cinema, and breaking away from routine storytelling will be key. Vanga’s approach has worked before, but it has also drawn criticism for being excessively intense. Spirit now sits at an interesting point. It has strong curiosity around it, but whether it strikes the right balance between emotion, action, and storytelling is something only the final product can answer.
