Anurag Basu is bringing the third installment of the Aashiqui franchise. The musical romance was supposed to have Triptii Dimri and Kartik Aryan in lead roles.
But now the news is that the Telugu actress Sreeleela will be replacing Triptii Dimri. Rumours have it that Triptii’s bold and sexy image from movies like Animal and Bad Newz was not liked by the makers.
Sreeleela made a strong entry in Telugu films with Dhamaka, her bubbly girl avatar was loved by all. But after multiple hits she found some back to back flops, especially Guntur Kaaram with Mahesh Babu that had high hopes.
The song Kissik was not as loved by the fans as Samantha’s Oo Antava in Pushpa franchise. However, her presence next to Allu Arjun in Pushpa 2 made her draw attention.
She also has plans for her pan-Indian career. Her debut film is with Maddock Films next to Saif Ali Khan’s son Ibrahim.
Kartik Aryan has given superhit films at the box office and his collaboration with Anurag Basu can make him a critically acclaimed actor too. If Sreeleela also gets an intense role in this romantic film with great music she might get back on track.
