Rashmika Mandanna will star alongside Salman Khan in the movie “Sikandar,” directed by AR Murugadoss. It’s set to release on Eid 2025.
Rashmika herself confirmed the news on social media, expressing her gratitude and excitement for the role.
But as soon as the news broke, some people started poking fun at Salman Khan for being cast opposite a leading lady who’s 31 years younger than him.
In fact, many online users didn’t hold back, criticizing the 58-year-old actor for romancing 27-year-old Rashmika in “Sikandar,” highlighting the huge age gap between them.
There were even hilarious comments suggesting the story might as well be about a father and his daughter, given the age difference.
Social media platforms were flooded with jokes and memes, with many finding the pairing of Salman Khan and Rashmika quite unusual.
This isn’t the first time Salman has been in such a pairing; last year, his film with Pooja Hegde Kisi Ka Bhai Kisi Ki Jaan faced similar criticism. Their pairing turned out to be a disaster just like the film.
Looks like Salman Khan thinks doing a film with a South Indian director and a South Indian heroine would be enough for him to deliver a hit film like Jawan and Animal.
But Salman Khan should realize that AR Murugadoss is now considered an outdated director and he is not in the league of Sandeep Reddy Vanga or Atlee.
Rashmika fans are also worried that this might be another film like Varisu where she will have nothing to do except romance the hero in mundane songs like in Varisu.
