Bollywood superstar Salman Khan is back in the limelights and this time it’s about his recently released movie Bajrangi Bhaijaan. The film, centered on the strained relationship between the countries India and Pakistan, seems to be a smashing hit at the box office and has crossed the 300-crore mark.
Aside from that remarkable news update, the film is also starting off new records. While film merchandise being sold in India is not something new, it came off as a bit of a surprise when the actor’s NGO, Being Human, sold a huge amount of the ‘gada’ used by the actor in the movie, with the number of items sold being 5,000.
“Selling film merchandise is not a new concept in Bollywood. But the fact is, no one in the industry has managed to sell one particular accessory in such a large number. This is truly because of Salman Khan’s super star power”, is what we hear from the trade sources.
