In a surprise move, the Telangana High Court has suspended the memo permitting the Ticket Prices Hike for Pawan Kalyan‘s OG.
Justice NV Shravan Kumar issued orders to this effect.
Challenging the memo of the Ticket Prices Hike, a person named Mahesh Yadav filed a petition in the High Court. T
The petitioner’s lawyer told the court that the Home Ministry Special CS did not have any powers to grant permission to increase the tickets. He said that only the Police Commissioner in Hyderabad and the Joint Collector in the districts have the authority to issue a memo.
The court was informed that there are rules that tickets should not be sold at higher prices.
The petitioner’s lawyer explained that the Home Ministry had also given an undertaking during the ‘Game Changer’ that the ticket prices will not be hiked.
Taking these arguments into consideration, High Court Judge Justice NV Shravan Kumar suspended the memo issued allowing the increase in ticket prices. The next hearing was adjourned to the 9th of next month.
This move will lead to utter chaos in the Trade Circles as well as the fans because we are just a few hours away from the Special Premiere of OG.
And most of the Premiere shows are already sold.
Now, the big question is if the shows will go as planned.
The Ticketing Agencies should refund the difference amounts, but such a thing has never happened in the past.
Or the shows should be canceled altogether, and the tickets should be sold at the normal prices which is again practically impossible.
Its not just the Premieres, the tickets were sold for the next 3-4 days.
Keeping aside the Prices allowed by the Government, Tickets were sold at exorbitant prices several times higher than the allowed rates.
This would lead to more confusion if the shows are canceled.
There is no precedent in the past about what happened in the past in such a scenario.
