After completing the shooting for his portions in Jailer 2, Rajinikanth took a short break and now, according to reports, the actor is back to business for his next film, tentatively titled Thalaivar 173.
Even though the Thalaivar 173 project was initially announced under the direction of Cibi Chakaravarthi, he stepped out of the project due to NOC issues and it is reported that Ashwath Marimuthu is now helming this project as a replacement.
According to reports, the photoshoot for this film recently took place in Chennai and the look for Rajinikanth has been finalised. Furthermore, the filming for this film reportedly begins on June 25th and it is expected that the official announcement regarding Ashwath Marimuthu’s appointment will be made soon.
In response to the recent updates regarding Thalaivar 173, Rajinikanth’s fans have already started celebrating and are confident that Ashwath Marimuthu will deliver a proper commercial entertainer with Rajinikanth. They also hope that Ashwath Marimuthu will bring out the fun side of Rajinikanth that will be enjoyed even by Gen Z audiences.
Meanwhile, some people are still in doubt about Ashwath Marimuthu’s potential because they believe he is still an inexperienced director. Pointing to the director’s previous two films, they claim that despite the blockbuster successes, both films were youthful entertainers, but directing a film with the superstar in the lead requires a lot more potential. Therefore, they feel that Rajinikanth’s collaboration with Ashwath Marimuthu is a huge gamble.
However, there have still been no official updates on this project and it remains to be seen how Rajinikanth’s 173rd film is going to take shape and whether Ashwath Marimuthu will deliver a hat-trick success with this massive project in the future.
