Many a time we keep hearing the failure of some of our biggies to appear before the courts whenever they have a hearing. Sometimes it goes to the length of the courts issuing non-bailable warrants like it now happened in the case of director Shankar.
In a case regarding alleged plagiarism of a story for his blockbuster movie ‘Enthiran’, Shankar failed to appear before the court several times. So, The Metropolitan Magistrate High Court issued a non-bailable warrant against the director.
The case was then adjourned for another hearing on 19th February. A story writer, Tamilanandan alleged that Shankar copied his story ‘Jiguba’ that he wrote in 1996 and made Rajinikanth’s ‘Enthiran’, ‘Robo’ in Telugu.
Shankar tried to get away from the allegations by filing a petition in the Supreme Court that was subsequently dismissed by the highest court of India.
