Sandeep Reddy Vanga is one of the most sought-after filmmakers in Indian cinema at the moment thanks to the scale of his success rate. His recent film Animal was a mega blockbuster at the ticket counters. The focus is now on his next film, Spirit with Prabhas.
Speaking about the film, Vanga refuted the rumors that the film is a horror thriller and he revealed that this is the story of a sincere police officer played by Prabhas.

In Arjun Reddy and Animal, Vanga showed his heroes as spoilt brats from rich families who have no societal limits. These shady characterizations struck a chord with the audience, and worked for both the films. But this formula won’t work forever and more so, with a cop story like Spirit.
Vanga can’t use the overtly aggressive, intentionally provocative, and often pervert-like traits for the hero characterization in Spirit. While one reason is that the film is a cop drama, the other is the huge stardom of Prabhas. Such adulterated stuff won’t work for Prabhas who has a superstardom to carry. Well, Animal’s Ranbir is also a superstar but the spectrum is wider in Bollywood and not so much for a Tollywood s litarke Prabhas.

At the same time, Vanga has to carry that “Sandeep Reddy Vanga film” mark despie removing the aforementioned traits. There are certain degree of expectations and commercial aspects that are to be met with Spirit with limitations on the Vanga-trademark overtly provocative approach. So, Spirit is going to be the toughest challenge to date for the extremely talented filmmaker.
