Yash’s Toxic opened on a strong note, but the second day has brought a big drop in numbers. The film is estimated to have collected around Rs 36.40 crore net in India on Day 2, taking the total to nearly Rs 137.50 crore in two days.
The drop is clear when compared with the opening day. Toxic reportedly made around Rs 101 crore net on Wednesday, so the second-day collection is much lower than expected.
The Hindi version continued to lead the film’s collections on Thursday with around Rs 23 crore, while the Kannada version contributed about Rs 8.50 crore. The Telugu version is estimated at around Rs 3 crore.
A drop on the second day is not unusual for a big opener, but this is still a sizeable fall. The weekend will now be important for the film. If the numbers pick up on Saturday and Sunday, Toxic can still put together a strong opening weekend.
For now, the second-day figures have certainly taken some shine off the massive start.
