Tillu Square – the second part of the successful film, DJ Tillu is releasing on March 29th. Banking on the success of the first part, the movie is a hot cake in the trade circles. There is a report spreading that Netflix bagged the non-theatrical rights of the film for a whopping 35 Crore.
But this report is only half-truth. There is no doubt Tillu Square got a fancy price but the number doing rounds is not true.
Sithara Nagavamsi struck a bundled deal with Netflix for a bouquet of films in his production. Gunturkaaram, MAD, Adikeshava, Tillu Square, and a couple of other films are also a part of this bundled deal. The producer made good money from this deal but it is not possible to ascertain how much Tillu Square exactly made.
In theaters, Tillu Square will have a big advantage because the audience did not see a reasonable release after Sankranthi. Its been more than two months and more over, there is sequel craze for the film. All this will help in a big opening. But then, the recently released trailer drew a mixed response.
