Tharun Bhascker’s Keeda Cola generated good interest from its premiere day and opened with a remarkable $200K on its premiere day, which is an impressive figure for a small film.
Maintaining this positive trend, despite mixed reviews, Keeda Cola managed to cross the $500K mark by the end of its first weekend ($524,353).
Interestingly, in comparison, Keeda Cola pulled much better collections than Ravi Teja’s festive release, Tiger Nageswara Rao.
While Tiger Nageswara Rao earned $379,293 in its lifetime run, the small film Keeda Cola, released after Dasara, comfortably surpassed the earnings of a big hero like Ravi Teja, crossing the half-million mark by first weekend itself.
This is a prime example of how consistency is crucial, even for a big star, to generate pre-release numbers, as the fate of the film ultimately depends on audience reception post-release.
