Prabhas created an unprecedented record by scoring two $15 Million films at the US box office: Baahubali 2 and now Kalki 2898 AD.
Baahubali 2 was a different beast altogether which crossed $20 Million (all languages) and now Kalki 2898 AD has just crossed $15 Million and is racing towards a finish of $18-$20 Million in its lifetime.
Kalki 2898 AD achieving these numbers without the support of the brand SS Rajamouli is simply phenomenal.
Now all eyes are on Allu Arjun and his Pushpa 2.
Pushpa did well and collected around $2.5 Million in 2021. But times have changed now. The box office has grown leaps and bounds for biggies. Pushpa 2 is coming with unprecedented hype, a sequel factor, and Allu Arjun’s all-time high craze.
Ideally, if Allu Arjun wants to compete with Prabhas, Pushpa 2 also should come close to the $15 Million mark. But is that possible?
Allu Arjun’s biggest US grosser has been Ala Vaikunthapurramuloo with $3.6 Million. His second best is Pushpa with $2.5 Million gross in the US.
Pushpa 2 has to do 4-5 times Allu Arjun’s biggest to touch the $15 Million mark. It may look tough, but considering the hype and expectations, hit music, Allu Arjun, and the Sukumar brand, definitely it is not impossible.
However, Pushpa 2 collecting $10 Million at the US box office is the bare minimum expectation from the film as of now.
