Naga Chaitanya’s Vrushakarma: Makers Playing with Fire?

Naga Chaitanya’s Vrushakarma has reached a point where the silence itself is becoming a problem. It has been nearly six months since the glimpse of Karthik Dandu’s film was released. The video created good curiosity and made the film one of the more interesting projects in Naga Chaitanya’s lineup. But there has been almost no major update since then.

Dussehra was reportedly being considered as a release target, depending on the progress of the VFX work. However, there is still no clarity from the team. That has now made the Dussehra plan look uncertain.

There was some talk that Vrushakarma could arrive in the third or fourth week of December. But Nagarjuna’s King 100 has locked December 24. An Akkineni-versus-Akkineni clash during the same holiday season looks unlikely. It would make little sense for father and son to compete at the box office for the same audience and theatres.

This leaves Vrushakarma in a tricky situation. The film has some genuine buzz because of its interesting world and Karthik Dandu’s previous work. Meenakshi Chaudhary is the female lead, while Sri Venkateswara Cine Chitra and Sukumar Writings are backing the project.

But curiosity has a shelf life. A glimpse can create strong momentum, but that momentum cannot be kept alive forever without any follow-up. New films keep arriving, and audience attention keeps moving. Their tastes keep evolving. Makers can’t take risk by postponing the film for too long that too with no updates.

This is especially important for Naga Chaitanya. He needs Vrushakarma to make a real impact like Irumudi did in recent times and change the conversation around his career. The team may be taking extra time to make the VFX work better, which is understandable. But they also need to communicate their plans.

After six months of waiting, fans simply want to know one thing: when is Vrushakarma coming?
